Management of Pediatric Traumatic Cataract With An Open Globe Injury

 Introduction: Traumatic cataract is one of the leading causes monocular blindness in children. The management pediatric traumatic challenging; growing size affected eyes and risk amblyopia further complicate things. timing removal IOL implantation remain controversial until today.
 Case Report: A thirteen-years-old boy came with his left eye punctured by a pencil tip. He visual acuity 1/300, full-thickness 5 mm paracentral corneal laceration cataract. patient went through two-step surgery. Cataract surgery was conducted week following suture.
 Discussion: Two-step performed on this consideration being when inflammation subside also more accurate calculation. One study stated, even 43.4% patient’s anterior capsule ruptures, it would postponed for 2 days up to 6 months. In case, after first surgery, revealed rupture lens material touching endothelium. Therefore, lensectomy because touches endothelium causing damage
 Conclusion: procedure preferable quiet eye, has better potential improvement However, since ruptured prolapsed into chamber, have been perform as an early prevent inflammation.
